ESCM March Fellowship 2026 - What Pastors Need to Know About Online Dating Today

We invite you to join our next fellowship—available both in person and via Zoom. Online dating is a significant part of the relational landscape in Toronto and within our churches. This session is designed to help ministry leaders navigate this modern environment with wisdom and pastoral care.

Topic: "What Pastors Need to Know About Online Dating Today"

Facilitator: Bosco Tung

Online Dating platforms have shifted significantly in recent years. Using current research and pastoral observations, we will explore:

• Mechanics: How platforms function today.

• The "Why": Why Christians use them and the unique strengths/limitations they provide.

• Dating apps have changed significantly in recent years. And this session will draw on current research and pastoral observations to help leaders make sense of these shifts.

The goal is to help pastors and ministry workers:

• better understand the relational environment people are navigating,

• offer transferable principles for “searching well” that apply whether people meet online or offline.

Bosco Tung is the National Associate Director with Lausanne Movement Canada. With over 15 years of experience in local church, campus, and parachurch ministry (including InterVarsity and Compassion Canada), Bosco brings a wealth of leadership insight. Having met his wife through online dating in 2016 while in ministry, he offers both professional expertise and personal perspective
